About Peace Gate Farm Sanctuary

Meet the founders, Sara and Anthony, who put their heart and muscle into creating a safe space for farm animals.

Early Calling

As a teenager, Sara discovered a deep connection to farm animals and began volunteering with sanctuaries.

Grassroots Beginnings

In 2018, Peace Gate Animal Sanctuary was created by using social media to fundraise and share stories and videos, audiences have grown.

Officially Recognized

By 2022, Peace Gate became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, gaining a board of directors and rapidly expanding its reach. The sanctuary moved from Kingsley to a 72-acre farm in Bear Lake, complete with barns and the space needed to grow.

Growing with Love

Today, the sanctuary is home to over 80 rescued animals. With every new resident, the team pours in time, love, and care—transforming farm animals into joyful and thriving individuals.

Bridging a Gap

Sara’s journey to establish Peace Gate Animal Sanctuary was fueled by a lifelong love for farm animals and a deep sense of empathy. From the first rescue in 2018 to founding the nonprofit in 2021, her dedication to these animals has been unwavering. The sanctuary’s growth has been steady, with the support of a devoted team of volunteers, board members, and generous donors. Each day is a testament to Sara’s resilience, as she balances the challenges of caregiving with the joy of seeing animals transform physically and emotionally.

The work is not without its hardships. The emotional toll of losing animals and the constant need for fundraising weigh heavily on Sara and her partner, Anthony. Yet, their commitment to the animals remains steadfast. Peace Gate is more than just a sanctuary—it’s a place of healing for both animals and the people who care for them. As Sara looks ahead, she remains driven by her vision of expanding the sanctuary, offering more specialized care, and continuing to bridge the gap between humans and farm animals in a world that often overlooks them. Your support can help bring these dreams to life, providing a safe space for even more animals in need of refuge.
